Because of the Lord's faithful love we do not perish, for His mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness! I say: The Lord is my portion, therefore I will put my hope in Him. Lamentations 3:22-24
Pray with us that people of Ojitlan will come to know Him, and experience His promises.
Not only is the verse above a reminder of why we are here; so everyone can hear about the hope in Christ, it also is an encouragment for us as we work and live here.
For the understatement of the year… it has been very hot here. You know that one week in August in Jacksonville where it is like 100 degrees for a couple of days, and when you get into your car it’s like 120…well yeah it’s like the get into your car 120 when you walk out the front door. We are hanging in there, and it should start storming in the evenings in June.
The pavilion is done! Thank you to the hard work of Shindler teams, men from Ojitlan, and Garrett and Jose the pavilion is complete! We can’t wait to use it officially for the first time at the end of June when we hold our first ever VBS. Not only does this pavilion serve as a ministry location, but it serves the community as well, and is open for people to use as they would like.
We have continued with our weekly presences in Ojitlan on Friday evenings playing sports with the community. We take at least 1 or 2 youth from Peniel as well, which is a great opportunity for them to partner with us in missions. They will be helping us during our week of VBS as well.
The Domingo family is doing well. We do not have much participation from the men in the family or 2 of the 3 sisters, but we know the discipleship process can be slow and messy. We have not given up on them, and are encouraged by the few who do participate. Please continue to pray for their eagerness to learn God’s word and the strength to apply it to their lives. Also pray for more participants.
Garrett and Brittany continue to serve in our local church here, Peniel Baptist Church. Garrett plays the bass for the church band, and Brittany gives an English class to children on Saturdays. Hope and Gideon are doing great. Hope’s school teacher thought she was forgetting English because she will not speak english in class. Gideon is ALL BOY, a ball full of energy that keeps this momma going, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Thank you for praying for us. We have VBS coming very soon, and we covet your prayers that things would go smooth, that we would have lots of help, and lots of visitors from the community.
Also if you haven't checked out our instagram #sightsysonidos go check it out. I try to post unique things we see in our daily routine of life here in Mexico.
